Uniform

 

As you are already aware we are launching a new uniform in September, which we are very excited about and from the feedback gathered at the last parents’ evening so are you. In anticipation of this may we take this opportunity to remind you of the expectations with regards to uniform.

School uniform can be purchased from Broadbents in Middleton and ordered online from School Trends. Most items are also available in all of the major supermarkets and high street stores.

 

BOYS

GIRLS

EYFS

White polo t shirt or shirt and tie

(tie optional)

Shirts must always be tucked into skirt/trousers

Key Stage 1 and 2:

White shirt and school tie

(Shirts must always be tucked into skirt / trousers)

Red sweatshirt with grey insert (with logo).

Red sweatshirt or cardigan with grey insert (with logo).

Grey school trousers or shorts.

Grey school skirt or pinafore dress.

Or

Red checked summer dress (Summer only)

Black or grey socks

Black, white or grey tights or socks

PE Kit

Red or white t shirt with or without school logo,

Black shorts and Black pumps

(nursery children DO NOT require a PE Kit)

From Year 1 upwards children require an outdoor PE Kit in addition to their indoor kit

Plain grey, black or navy leggings or jogging bottoms

Plain grey, black or navy fleece or sweatshirt

Outdoor trainers (plain black/white)
 

Plain black shoes.

NO trainers, boots, canvas or trainer type shoes.

Be careful as many sports shops market ‘school shoes’ which are actually trainers.

*in KS2 we would expect pupils to be able to

tie their own shoe laces.

NO trainers, boots, canvas or trainer type shoes.

Bags:

All children are given a book bag when they join our school. This bag is replaced when children reach Year 3.

From reception onwards children are also given a PE bag which is again replaced in Year 3.

NO other bags should be brought into school (with the exception of swimming bags). Pencil cases are also provided in KS2.

 

Water Bottles:

All children are given a water bottle when they join us. NO other bottle should be brought into school. New water bottles can be purchased at a cost of £2.00 or replacement lids at a cost of 50p. Water bottles are for water only in line with our Healthy School’s status.

 

Jewellery:

Small, simple stud earrings may be worn but these MUST be removed for PE. If you are planning on having your child’s ears pierced please do this at the start of the summer holiday so that they can be removed in September.

Children may wear a small wrist watch.

NO other jewellery is permitted.

 

Nail Varnish:

Nail Varnish is not part of school uniform and is not permitted at any time.

 

Hair:

Hairstyles must be appropriate for the learning environment i.e. shaved designs are not suitable . Pupils with shoulder length or longer hair (male or female) must have it tied back neatly and out of their eyes. Accessories should be in keeping with the uniform, i.e. red or grey. Large, multi-coloured bows and accessories are not permitted.

 

Please make sure that you label all of your child’s school uniform (including shoes and coats) clearly with their name. We cannot be held responsible for lost items especially if they have not got a name in.
