Ethos and Values

Middleton Parish Church School aims to fulfil everyone's potential in a friendly, caring Christian environment where all are valued.

We are a Church of England primary that lies at the heart of Middleton. We have very high expectations for our children and have a dedicated staff team who are committed to providing an exciting environment in which they can learn.

Middleton Parish is a church school; Gospel values, as exemplified in the life of Jesus, are used to create an environment where exemplary behaviour is at the heart of productive learning.  Our core values echo the expectations of our school community, with 'Excellence, Truth and Grace' at the heart of everything that we do.  We recognise that our children are made in the image of God and possess unique gifts and qualities and our approach focuses on celebrating the successes and achievements of all our children.

'Excellence, Truth and Grace'

Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious - the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly;strive for excellence, things to praise, not things to curse.

Philippians 4:8-9

School, Church and community working together for the benefit of all.

12 And one standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer; three is even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 Living Bible

Therefore, Middleton Parish Church School exists to ensure that our children:

  • Recognise their own greatness.
  • Are secure in who they are.
  • Know that they are loved by God.
  • Achieve everything that they are capable of whilst with us.
  • Receive the vey best opportunities to succeed in the 21st Century.

In order to achieve this we need to:

  • Be a school that worships and celebrates together.
  • Welcome parents and recognise that they are the foundation of their children's learning.
  • Develop a curriculum that provides challenge and opportunities to grow for each child.
  • Have a highly trained staff that holds the very best interests of the children at the heart of everything they do.
  • Serve the community of the parish of St. Leonards to fulfill the mission of the church in school.
